YSRCP Readies for Big Movement for Handri Neeva

Chittoor: YSR Congress party leader and Madanapalle MLA Desai Thippa Reddy warned TDP government that he will  launch a big struggle for water to Handri Neeva project soon.  The leader accompanied by  party workers and farmers staged a big dharna at Handri Neeva project protesting the stoppage of works at  manadapalle summer storage tank. 
He said 85 per cent of the works were completed before Chief minister  N Chandrababu Naidu came to power in 2014. The CM announced the allocation of  Rs 1600 crore for the project to provide irrigation facility for 2 lakh acres and  drinking water to 5 lakh people. But no work was taken up for the last three years. 
Coming down heavily on Chandrababu for cheating people with false promises,  the YSR Congress leader said that the CM made promise that the works will be taken up form September. So far, no action was taken, he said.
