Amaravati: YSRCP MLAs Raghurami Reddy, Amjad Basha and Kadapa parliamentary constituency president Suresh Baba demanded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government release irrigation waters to the Telugu Ganga and Brahma Sagar canals from the KC Canal in YSR Kadapa district. Speaking to media here, the leaders warned that the YSRCP would carry out protests if the waters were not released before August 1.
The YSRCP leaders alleged that the state government completely ignored the interests of the farmers and that Chandrababu did not live up to a single promise he made to the farmers. "Even though Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya ordered that the waters be released, the officers have not followed till now," they said. YSRCP will always stand by the farmers in the state, the leaders added.
