YSRCP leader complains to police against KEK’s kin

Former Chairperson of the Kurnool District Cooperative Central Bank and YSRCP leader Kangati Sridevi on Friday accused Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy’s relatives of raking up factional feuds in Cherukulapadu of Veldurthi mandal and complained to Kurnool SP A. Ravikrishna on the issue.
Recalling her father-in-law Siva Reddy’s murder in Cherukulapadu in 1998, Ms. Sridevi said then District Collector, Inspector-General of Police and Superintendent of Police had called a peace meeting in the village and directed the accused to leave the village and not visit it again.
Though the case was struck down by court, the arrangement by the district administration ensured peace in the village for the last 17 years, she said.
She alleged that trouble had begun brewing in Cherukulapadu after the visit of K.E. Shyam Babu, son of the Deputy Chief Minister, along with families of the kin of the accused, to the village three months ago.
The YSR Congress leader said she had complained to the Kurnool SP in this regard.
