YSRCP to join Oct 10 bandh in Telangana

Hyderabad, YSR Congress has said that it will take part in the October 10 state bandh in protest against the TRS Government’s apathy towards farmers.
‘We will fight for the cause of the farmers and join the State-wide bandh with the other opposition parties demanding a one-time payment of loan waiver, ‘Telangana Party president Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy told reporters here on Thursday.
Criticising the way in which the assembly proceedings were conducted, by suspending the opposition parties for three days and adjourning the house on October 7, three days ahead of the schedule, he said, ‘ it was not fair on part of the government to blame the previous governments for the farmers’ suicides. It was the TRS which has failed to honour its promise of the loan waiver in one go that has driven the farmers to suicide.’
The TRS, which has promised to create a Market Stabilisation Fund and waiving the agriculture loans has gone back on its word which has led to suicides, he said.
YSR has taken up many welfare schemes to stem the rot after coming to power in 2004 which has stalled the suicides, he said and appealed to the cadre to participate in the October 10 bandh in large numbers and make it a success.
