Hyderabad,
June 5, 2014: Criticising the misuse of official machinery, extravaganza, pomp and
boasting of the swearing-in ceremony of TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu, YSR
Congress has said this only indicates the manner in which he will be serving
his coterie that has been running the show ignoring the people’s plight.
“The
manner in which the hotels are booked, aircraft and choppers are being
commissioned and sub-stations being erected for the swearing-in ceremony while
people are reeling under severe power cuts shows the priorities of the TDP
government,” party leader G Srikanth Reddy told reporters here on Thursday.
Booking
five special flights, helicopters, villas and hotel rooms in Guntur and
Vijayawada and the way money is being spent in an extravagant manner for the
swearing-in ceremony shows that the coterie that is working to illuminate the
function will be taken care of in the days to come and nepotism will be the
keyword of the governance, he said.
Seeking
donations without giving any thought to the dire situation coastal Andhra and
Rayalaseema is in, and spending money and misusing official machinery for
unproductive means is highly objectionable, he said.
TDP
should fulfill its election promise as mentioned in the manifesto of waiving
all agriculture loans, he said.
Brushing
aside the reports appearing in a section of media that Congress has sought the
merger of YSRCP, he said, “Congress has been our arch rival and we have fought
all these years to decimate it. It was TDP which has sailed with it all time.
There is no truth and there is no reason as to why we should merge with
Congress,” he said. The report quoting Modi is not in good taste for the
section of media, he said.
