Hyderabad, Jan 17: Telangana YSR Congress would hold dharna at Indira Park on January 24 against the failure of TRS government in clearing the fees reimbursement dues putting many students in hardships.
‘KCR government has been spending money on non-productive schemes and has been diverting funds from the core schemes but has never considered clearing the dues for fees reimbursement to colleges. The students are not given the certificates as the fees due did not come from the government.
In protest against this our party will hold dharna at Indira Park demanding full payment of the fees due and our state president Gattu Srikanth Reddy would lead the protest,’ party leader K. Shiva Kumar told reporters here on Tuesday.
The state owes Rs 3,600 crores to the colleges and has not cleared the dues so far and many students who completed professional courses are unable to find placements as they could not get their certificates from the colleges, which refused to give them as the dues were not cleared by the government, he said.
When YSR was the Chief Minister the scheme was running in full steam and not a single complaint was lodged but now in both the Telugu states the fees reimbursement scheme is being watered down, he said.
