04 May 2018 6:09 PM
YSR Congress party has demanded Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to quit the post owing moral responsibility to the Dachepalli incident where a minor girl was raped. Party MLAs RK Roja and several others staged a dharna at Guntur government hospital in protest against the incident.
The MLAs questioned the police for not arresting the accused for the last 24 hours. They said the victim was facing mental trauma and also severely injured. The YSR Congress leaders alleged that the TDP legislators were also indulged in such heinous crimes and it was proved in the report released by Associate For Democratic Reforms recently.
When the leaders were staging dharna, police took them into preventive custody and shifted them to nearby hospitals.
Roja consoles rape victim in Dachepalli
YSRCP senior leader and firebrand MLA RK Roja consoled the nine-year-old rape victim of Dachepalli. She called on the girl and her parents at Dachepalli on Friday and expressed disgust at the heinous crime. She said it was shameful that such atrocities were happening in Guntur district, where the CM himself resides. She said there were nine rape cases in Guntur district in the past few days.
She said the punishment should be so strong that it should act as a deterrant for the rapists. He said the Home Minister of the state is confined to his home and the Chief Minister is limited to IT and other technologies.
Roja reminded that the TDP leaders were involved in call money sex racket and the police, instead of booking them, had actually acted as bouncers for the TDP leaders. She said the chief minister should resign owning responsibility for the atrocities on women.
