YSRCP Demands Chandrababu’s Resignation

Hyderabad, March 9: Demanding the resignation of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in wake of the Supreme Court notice in the cash for vote case, YSR Congress has said that he has no moral right to continue in the office and it will be detrimental to the progress of the state.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana said:’ Chandrababu Naidu has been known for his quality of compromise and placing personal interests ahead of state interests but holding an high office even after the apex court has issued notice is not in the democratic spirit. Being in high office he has every opportunity to compromise with people and institutions and the case may not take its due course by virtue of his position,’.

In the two charge-sheets Chandrababu Naidu’s name has been mentioned time and again and no Chief Minister in the country has continued in office after being named in the charge sheet and we demand that he step down immediately to pave way for a fair investigation and take the case to its logical conclusion.

‘If he resigns he will be honouring the moral and ethical values and will be sending the right signals,’ he said adding that several important issues of state interests were relegated to backwaters after the cash for vote exposure. The Special Category Status has been degraded to special package, whenever there was a issue to take up with the neighbouring state on river water sharing, Chandrababu Naidu has been silent and allowed Telangana to go ahead with its irrigation ventures.

‘At least now he has place state interests ahead of personal interest and should resign on moral grounds to upkeep the highest traditions of parliamentary practices and pave way for someone else from his own part to take charge,’ he said.
