YSRCP Demands Chandrababu To Solve Water Crisis In Rayalaseema

YSR Congress Party leader and MLA Visweshwara Reddy demanded Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to address water crisis in Rayalaseema region first and prove his sincerity on the plights of people in the drought hit region.

Addressing press in Uravakonda,  the YSR Congress leader said that he will request the CM to alter the GO 65 to  provide irrigation water to Rayalaseema from  Srisailam  project during Chandrababu visit to the region on Friday.

Reddy pointed out that Handri Niva project works was almost under completion but irrigation facility has  not been  provided.  The Detailed Project Report said the project would provide irrigation facility in 3.5 lakh acres.  Practically,  not more than 10,000 acres were covered so far.

Government promised the supply of water to the ayacut under Handri Niva project by 2016 but no action has been taken towards this end, the YSR Congress leader said ridiculed Chandrababu for organising Jalaharathi program when water levels in all reservoirs touched dead storages.
