Nellore, March 18, 2014: Asserting that YSR ruled
the state like a caring father, YSR Congress party leader Smt. Y.S. Sharmila assured
people that they would regain those golden days when YSRCP comes to power under
the leadership of Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy after the next elections.
Addressing an election public meeting at Venkatagiri
in Nellore district on Tuesday, she said YSR always strived for the welfare of the
farmers. “Soon after becoming CM, he first inked his signature on the file
relating to 7-hour free power supply to farmers. Similarly, he kept all his
promises and worked for the welfare of the people,” Smt. Sharmila said.
Saying that the Arogya Sri Scheme, introduced by YSR
, had helped lakhs of poor people regain their health , Smt. Sharmila said
thousands of poor students had benefitted by his fee reimbursement scheme and attained
higher education.
Expressing her anguish at the steep hike in the
prices of essential commodities, she said while prices of all essential
commodities have skyrocketed, farmers are not getting MSP for their agricultural
produce.
“YSR Congress party had introduced no-trust vote
against the inefficient Congress government but Chandrababu Naidu came to its
rescue,” she said, adding that Naidu once said that people would become lazy if
welfare schemes were introduced. “Forgetting all this, he is now singing the
tune of welfare schemes for garnering votes.”
She asked people to remember YSR before they
exercise their franchise during the forthcoming elections. Smt. Sharmila launched her poll campaign in Nellore district on Monday. Before arriving in the district, Smt Sharmila offered prayers at YSR Samadhi at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district.
