Guntur: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy this evening made a Skype video call to the fasting YSRCP MPs in New Delhi to enquire about their health and also spoke a few words of encouragement. He spoke to them after his interactive session with the weavers in Mangalagiri.
YS Jagan told the MPs who are on indefinite hunger strike that the entire state was watching them with tremendous hope and aspiration. He mentioned that five crore people of Andhra Pradesh will remember them for life and said that the masses were supportive of their decision to resign and take up an indefinite hunger strike.
The YSRCP Chief said that the people were expressing their support to the fasting MPs by participating in relay hunger strikes across the state. He informed them that the entire YSRCP cadre would be with them. "Today national highways were blocked and tomorrow they would take up rail roko. The relentless fight for Special Category Status to AP would continue until it was granted," he asserted.
Reacting to the party President's words of encouragement, the MPs said they were concerned about the fight for the people rather than their personal health and position. "We understand the efforts that you have been putting for the welfare of the state. The hunger strike taken up by you earlier has been the inspiration for us and we will fight till the state is granted SCS," the MPs said.. YS Jagan suggested that they should take care of their health as well.
