YS Jagan Congratulates Hima Das

Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy congratulated Hima Das on winning the first ever gold medal for India in athletics. YS Jagan took to twitter to send across his greetings to the world champion.

Sprinter Hima Das scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman athlete to win a gold medal at the world level as she clinched the top spot in the women's 400m final race in the IAAF World Under-20 Athletics Championships at Finland. The 18-year-old Das, a pre-tournament favourite, clocked 51.46s to win the gold.

The YSRCP Chief, while appreciating Hima Das, went on to say that AP had abundant potential. If only best sports facilities are created sports persons would bring many more accolades to India, he mentioned.

"Congratulations @HimaDas8 on becoming the first ever Indian girl to win gold in world U20 athletics. AP has such potential in abundance. Provided world-class sports facilities, these athletes can perform their best and bring many more accolades to India," YS Jagan tweeted.
