YS Jagan Assures Return Of Rajanna Rajyam

Guntur: YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assured the people of the state that he would usher in the golden epoch of his father's rule or Rajanna Rajyam in Andhra Pradesh once again. Interacting with people as part of his mass contact initiative, Praja Sankalpa Yatra in the Mangalagiri constituency, YS Jagan pointed out that during the late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy's tenure, turmeric sold for the same price as a tola or ten grams of gold. It fetched a market price of Rs.16,000 per quintal. In contrast today, turmeric prices had fallen steeply, while middlemen demanded Rs. 9,000-10,000 per quintal for sorghum.
The TDP rule was an anti-farmer one, he remarked and said that the market prices of their produce did not even cover the cost of cultivation. He criticised the Chandrababu government for denying agriculturists insurance coverage. Cattle farmers were not given the requisite subsidy, he said.
As YS Jagan moved forward, slogans demanding Special Category Status for AP rent the air, all along the way. Thousands of women and the elderly walked along with the Leader of Opposition in AP assembly expressing their solidarity with the YSRCP's struggle for SCS to the state.
