YS Jagan assures to help ONGC contract employees

Yanam: ONGC contract employees today met Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and sought his intervention in solving their problems. The employees met the mass leader during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra on day 203 in East Godavari district and narrated their difficulties. They told YS Jagan that without any reason 36 employees were sacked.

"We have been working in ONGC as fire fighters and are attending to fire accidents not only in the organisation, but also in the nearby villages. We are with the organisation since its inception. But now they are reasoning that Rs 10,000 salary was a burden to the organisation and have sacked us. It was unfair to sack employees after taking our lands and promising employment."

They pointed out that "the company has decided to sack 36 employees and operate with only three people, which is surprising, especially for a petroleum plant which was a hazardous zone. There is a need for more fire fighters," the ONGC contract employees said.

The contract employees requested YS Jagan to take up their case and try to get them reinstated, as also regularised. YS Jagan assured to come up with a solution to their problems and continued his padayatra.
