Women complain on poor quality of housing

Vijayawada, March 27,
2013: The residents of Old Rajeswari Peta in Vijayawada on Wednesday complained
to Smt. Y. S. Sharmila of the poor quality of their houses built by the
Government.

The residents, most of
them daily labourers, told her at a Rachchabanda interaction that they are not
in a position to get the dilapidated houses repaired with their daily earnings.
Smt. Sharmila assured them that YSRCP, after coming to power, will ensure that
the expenses to repair the houses in such colonies will be borne by the
Government.

She also assured them
steps will be taken to appoint more women police for the protection of women in
the state.

Smt. Sharmila has been
walking through the areas of Old Rajeswari peta, New Rajeswarari Pet, Pipes
Road, Prakash Nagar, Santhi Nagar, Singh Nagar, Government Press, Sivaji Café
Centre, BRTS Road and Gymkhana Grounds in Vijayawada town after resuming her
Padayatra on the 103^rd day on Wednesday.
