Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative Assembly and YSR Congress party (YSRCP) Chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy condemned the police attack on students who had demanded Steel plant in YSR Kadapa district.
YS Jagan said that every single injury the students suffered has hurt the hearts of the people of the state. Reacting to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's decision to deploy police forces on students who were staging a protest, the YSRCP Chief questioned the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) commitment to the interests of the state, in a tweet.
"Respected Chief Minister.... the students who had demanded the setting up of a steel plant in Kadapa had been brutally attacked by the police forces. The students suffered severe injuries and the people of the state are outraged. I am worried with the medical condition of student leader Nayak, who urgently needs medical treatment. It is because the Telugu Desam Party, after being in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Centre and the State for four years, completely ignored the State's interests, that students and opposition parties are compelled to come on to the streets. After attacking common people for demanding to reduce electricity charges in Basheerbagh, the TDP leaders are indulging in rampant corruption and harrassments. Will the government keep attacking people for demanding their dues?" YS Jagan's tweet read.
