This will be Naidu’s last election: Jagan

Kandukuru(Prakasam dist),
April 21, 2014: Continuing the diatribe, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that TDP
leader N Chandrababu Naidu can stoop to any level and promise moon as this is
going to be his last election and appealed to the people to elect a leader who
has credibility, honesty and who is known for keeping election promises.

“Chandrababu Naidu is
desperate and is languishing in frustration which is prompting him to dole out
impracticable promises though his dreaded past haunts him. Promising anything
and everything before elections and forgetting them after polls has been his
nature which was why he was rejected by the people since 2004.

I have inherited the
qualities of YSR who stood as a model chief minister in the country in carrying
out welfare measures and putting economy on the development track. I will
continue his line of approach and reach out to all sections of people,” he said
while addressing a public meeting here on Monday and appealed to the people to
vote for YSRCP fan symbol to bring in a welfare state.

Naidu has been promising to
provide one job per family unmindful of the fact that there are 3.5 crore
families in the state and in the 60 year period after independence only 20 lakh
jobs were provided till now. His deceit is more pronounced when he says this as
he was the person who has closed down 65 PSUs in the name of disinvestment and
rendered 26,000 workers jobless. His government was very harsh when Anganwadi
employees were on strike to increase their pay.

He is promising to waive
agriculture and DWACRA loans which account for Rs 1.5 lakh crores. This is
impossible and he is only trying to fool people as the annual revenue of the
state is only 1.25 lakh crores. He has been of the habit of promising
everything before polls and forgetting them after elections.

He has done away with the
Rs 2 kg rice and increased its price to Rs 5.25, he has scrapped prohibition
and encouraged belt shops. He has grabbed power from NTR through backdoor and
is now invoking his name for elections.

If Naidu has been so
sincere about the welfare, why he did not implement a single scheme while he
was chief minister, he asked.

While he was chief minister
for nine years, people had undergone hardships as pensions and houses were
allotted on quota system which was meager. Education and Medicare have been
very costly and poor were driven to indebtedness for educating their wards and
providing treatment to family members.

He has given a letter to
divide the state and joined hands with Sonia Gandhi and his MPs went on record
that they were the first to vote for a separate state. There were celebrations too in that
part of the state in his Party. He comes to this region and sings a different
tune. This type of raw opportunism should be rejected, he said.

“After I assume power as
chief minister, I will sing five files which will change the course of the
state. Amma Vodi is the scheme which will provide Rs 1,000 to the mother for
educating her two children, increase old age pension to Rs 700, provide Rs
3,000 crore Market Stabilisation Fund, waive DWACRA loans and decentralize
administration,” he said.

This apart, Aarogyasri
scheme will be strengthened and Rs 3,000 would be given to the people who are
advised rest during the post surgery period. While he was speaking a 108
ambulance has passed through amidst cheers from the public when YSR was
remembered for bringing in such a facility.

Providing 150 units of
power for Rs 100, and converting the state into a power surplus one by 2019
besides building 50 lakh houses in five years are the other issues on our
agenda, he said and appealed to vote for YSRCP fan symbol.
