This Is Why Andhra Pradesh Needs YS Jagan

Anantapur: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) former vice chancellor Prof Venkatrami Reddy, during a debate on "Why Andhra Pradesh Needs Jagan", said that achieving the Special Category Status (SCS) and the construction of Polavaram and Handri-neeva irrigation projects would only be possible if Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy comes to power. In the debate, he quoted Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA R Krishnaiah's recent comments that YS Jagan's stand on the Kapu reservation makes him more of a realist than a politician.

Recently, the YSR Congress Party Chief clarified that the issue of the Kapu reservation was not in the purview of the state government and that he would do justice in all possible ways, while safeguarding the interests of the Backward Classes and following the Supreme Court's directions of 50% reservation limit. Prof Venkatrami Reddy said that YS Jagan's leadership was essential for the development of the State. "Unlike Chandrababu, YS Jagan made realistic promises," he added.

In the debate, the speakers felt that a united fight against the Centre for the SCS led by YS Jagan, was the only way to achieve the demands. They expressed confidence over YS Jagan's ability to fulfill the aspirations of former Chief Minister late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. "YS Jagan's love for the people of the State is motivating him in walking thousands of kilometers across the State through his popular programme called Praja Sankalpa Yatra. If we wish to finish the construction of Handri-neeva and Polavaram projects, we should bring YS Jagan to power in the upcoming elections," they concluded.
