White Paper On GO 123 Sought

‘We demand that the TRS Government should explain as to why GO No 123 was brought out while there is an existing Land Acquisition Act 2013 and why it is planning to bring out a new act which is detrimental to the farmers’ interests,’ party spokesperson Konda Raghava Reddy told reporters here on Monday.

The state government has been indifferent to the farmers’ issues in terms of land acquisition and it should answer as to where there is a need to bring out a separate legislation for acquiring fertile lands from farmers. On the irrigation front TRS has tall claims but when it comes to ground works it does not correspond to the claims, he said. ‘Chief Minister has been claiming that all projects would be completed by June 2018 but the progress is on a snail’s pace,’ he said.
