Hyderabad: YSRCP MLA Rachamallu Prasad Reddy brought to the notice of the Government the problem of shortage of water faced at Proddutur. Speaking during the zero hour of AP assembly, he expressed his concern by stating that Proddutur municipality provided water only once a week.
He mentioned that work had earlier been taken up with an expenditure of Rs.18 crore to link canal water to River Penna. But it was stalled as farmers had gone to the court. He added that integration of river water with canal water would solve the problem of water shortage in Proddutur. Rachamallu mentioned that minister Devineni Uma had come to the district. He questioned the concerned minister when this would be accomplished.
