Assembly: YSRCP MLA Uppuleti Kalpana criticized the Government for saying that it had not come to the notice of the Government that the people who had taken gold loans received notices. Speaking in the assembly, she complained that the women were being threatened with notices from the banks. She added that meeting minister regarding this issue had not helped the worried women.
She mentioned that every married woman considered her ‘Mangala Sutra’ very sacred and only mortgaged it under severe circumstances. Kalpana criticized Babu for his deceptive promise that he would let mortgaged gold free. She added that women were still waiting for him to let their gold loose. Uppuleti Kalpana demanded the Government to issue a white paper regarding this.
