Vijayamma thanks people for signatures

Hyderabad January 15: A delegation led by YSR
Congress Honorary President YS Vijayamma will meet the President Pranab
Mukherjee later in the day and submit him a memorandum along with the
signatures of over 1.56 crore people seeking justice to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“There was an unprecedented response to the
signature campaign with people volunteering to speak in favour of YS Jagan
Mohan Reddy condemning his undemocratic arrest,” YS Vijayamma told reporters
before leaving for Delhi.

Though over 1.96 core people have signed for
Jagan we could not put all them into CDs due to paucity of time as the
appointment details were told by Rashtrapathi Bhavan only last night.

Hence only 1.56 crore signatures have been
copied in the Compact Disk and will be submitted to the President and we will
tell him the sentiments of the multitude of people who volunteered to sign
seeking the release of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as the arrest was undemocratic, she
said.

“I thank each and every one who had voiced
their concern and participated in the signature campaign in such large numbers.
Such a massive response is unprecedented in the history of the state, she said.

Even in the by-elections people have shown
their will in no uncertain terms but still, even more than seven months after
the arrest, Jagan is still in jail for reasons not comprehendible.

"The will and view of the people reflects in
the signatures and I hope justice will be done to Jagan babu and he will come
out soon,” she said in an emotional voice.

The delegation comprises, party MP, MLAs, MLACs
and other leaders.
