Vijayamma condoles Dr. Anji Reddy’s death

Hyderabad, March 16,
2013: YSR Congress Party honourary president Smt. Y. S. Vijayamma expressed
condolences over the death of Dr. Kallam
Anji Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Hyderabad-based pharma major Dr. Reddy’s
Laboratories (DRL).

Describing
Dr. Anji Reddy as a man who brought international laurels to the country’s
pharmaceutical industry through continuous research and development of life
saving drugs for cancer and other diseases, she said India’s pharmaceutical
industry has lost a Godfather in his death.

“Hailing
from an ordinary agricultural family from a tiny village in Guntur district, he
founded Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and gradually transformed it into the second
largest pharmaceutical company of the country,” she said in her statement.

She
conveyed her profound sympathies to the bereaved family members.
