Adilabad, July 20,
2013: YSR Congress Party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma on Saturday
demanded the Government to come to the rescue of the flood-affected victims in
Adilabad district immediately and announce suitable compensation to the
affected farmers.
Speaking to reporters
after visiting the flood ravaged areas of Pendalawada and its surrounding areas
in Jainath Mandalam of the district today, she said farmers are the worst hit
from the floods and there is an imminent need for the Government to help them financially.
“This is very
unfortunate that people in the district, especially farmers, are suffering
heavily every year due to the recurrence of floods,” she said, adding Government
must take steps to minimize flood losses.
She talked to the farmers and examined the damaged
cotton plants. She assured them YSRCP would bring pressure on the Government to
announce suitable compensation to them.
