Anantapur: An unprecedented welcome and a heart-warming reception greeted YSR Congress Party president and Leader of the Opposition in AP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as he stepped into Raptadu assembly constituency of Anantapur district as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra. A large number of BCs and Muslims have come and met YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. They told him that they were awaiting his arrival for quite some time. They recounted their problems to YS Jagan and said that Chandrababu has given them a short shrift. They said that YS Jagan was the first leader to have assured that he would make someone from Rajaka community an MLA. They hoped that once YS Jagan came to power, he would uplift the lives of the BCs.
A large number of farmers met YS Jagan and told him that theywere not getting remunerative prices for their produce. Lack of local market access is forcing the local farmers to transport their produce to neighbouring Bellari in Karnataka. Due to this, they are incurring additional expenditure in the form of transport and labour charges. As a result, they are suffering losses. They wanted a Bengal gram procurement centre in Anantapuram.
The public meeting at Kuderu was unprecedented as the crowds came in huge numbers. Speaking at the meeting, YS Jagan said that though Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi is passing through Uravakonda constituency, the TDP Government was not showing any interest in providing water to this parched area.
After wrapping up his hugely successful two-day tour of Uravakonda, YS Jagan entered into Rapthadu on Monday afternoon.
