Tension in Thundurru

West Godavari: Thundurru in West Godavari district tensed after a large number of YSRCP activists were arrested for protesting against Aquapark on Wednesday. As many as 400 villagers including women were arrested when they were protesting against the construction of an aqua foods park at Thundurru. The police also imposed  Section 144 in the village and many YSRCP leaders were house arrested.

The villagers have been opposing the aqua park stating that it will cause serious pollution problems in the area. The police took YSRCP leaders into custody and shifted them to police stations when they tried to participate in the rally.
