TDP's sole intention is to mislead people

New Delhi: Reacting to yesterday's no-trust vote debate in Parliament and later with the votes failing to topple the government, the former YSR Congress Party MPs Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and YV Subba Reddy recalled that when YSRCP placed a notice to move a no-confidence motion in Parliament, TDP made a mockery of it. Now, they followed our party's footsteps in vain, they said. The MPs said that the bond between BJP and TDP was very clear from the words of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who said despite TDP walking away from NDA alliance, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu continues to be their friend.

Mekapati said that TDP's sole purpose of placing the no-trust vote was to mislead people. Moreover, none of the TDP leaders had protested to the statements of Rajnath Singh. He said since TDP-BJP are very much friendly, Chandrababu did not bother to go to Delhi. Both the parties had a secret understanding between them with respect to no-confidence motion, he observed.

The former YSRCP MP said that the TDP-BJP collusion was evident when Kesineni Srinivas, at the end of the no-trust vote debate focused more on personal attacks rather than demanding Special Category Status. Even as YSRCP was demanding that turncoat MP Butta Renuka be disqualified, she was invited to speak, which proved that BJP and TDP had a pact.

Former YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy recalled that it was his party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who had been relentlessly fighting for SCS, Polavaram, Railway zone, Kadapa steel plant and ports. "We had planned to bring pressure on the central government and placed no-confidence motion 13 times during the Budget session of the Parliament. However, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan rejected it. In protest against the Central government's attitude, the YSRCP MPs resigned and went on an indefinite hunger strike," he said.

Subba Reddy also said that the pact was apparent with the Speaker admitting the no-confidence motion on the first day of monsoon session itself. While taking the support of Congress, Chandrababu had worked out a secret pact with BJP, he said. "What has Chandrababu got to say to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement that AP CM had said no to SCS and accepted Special Package?" he asked.
