Srikakulam: The TDP Government's decision to build atomic power plant in Srikakulam district is facing resistance from the people of the area. TDP leaders are attempting hard to establish the power plant at Ranasthali. As part of this, special deputy collector Sitaramarao and Tehsildar M.Suresh came to survey the areas around Kotapalem and Allivalasa. The people then confronted them how Chandrababu could attempt the construction now, having objected to it when in opposition, citing environmental hazards. They were not satisfied when the collector tried to convince them with packages and rehabilitation. The police had to intervene and convince the two parties. As a result, the officials had to put a hold on survey work and leave.
