TDP Pocketing Money in the Name of Polavaram

Kakinada: YSRCP's president of East Godavari district, Kurasala Kannababu, demanded the union Government for taking up the construction of Polavaram project. An all-party round table conference happened at Kakinada over increasing the amount of compensation for expatriates of Polavaram project. Speaking on this occasion, Kannababu criticised that TDP was doing robbery in the name of Polavaram project's construction, stating that Chandrababu had given the responsibility of the project to his benamis instead of allowing the union Government's intervention, in order to rob more.

He questioned why the Government was not caring about compensation to be offered to expatriates. He demanded re-survey of flood areas of Polavaram. He questioned how the union Government could hand over the responsibility of Polavaram project to the state Government in spite of no mention of it in the reorganisation act, citing its statement that special category status was not mentioned in the reorganisation act.
