T decision aimed at reducing Jagan popularity

Guntur, Aug 19, 2013:
YSR Congress Party senior leader and Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy on
Monday accused the Congress leadership of dividing the state of Andhra Pradesh
for making Rahul Gandhi Prime Minister.

Addressing the huge
gathering of people at the party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma’s
Samara Deeksha venue in Guntur, he said people would have been happier if Rahul
Gandhi had tried to protect the nation’s unity and integrity and for its
development. “But, the Congress leadership had resorted to the atrocious step
of dividing the state for votes and seats. People will never pardon the
Congress party for its politically motivated decision,” he said.

The only ulterior motive
behind the Congress decision to form Telangana state is to reduce the mass
popularity of party chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said.

“Long ago, we have
informed the Congress high command of the serious problems that would arise out
of division of the state but Ahmad Patel and P.Chidambaram have already decided
to divide the state keeping in mind the votes and seats in Telangana area,”
charged Mekapati.
