Supreme Court Speaks About Roja’s Suspension
07 Apr 2016 5:50 PM
New
Delhi: Supreme Court has accepted the petition filed by YSRCP
MLA Roja challenging the verdict delivered by the division bench of AP High
Court regarding her unjust suspension from the assembly for one year. The court
has issued notices to the state Government and the assembly’s office to give an
explanation regarding the suspension. This explanation is expected in two weeks’
time. Inquiry on the case has been
postponed to the 21st of this month.
On
this occasion, the Supreme Court has made remarks on the judgement given by the
High Court. The judicial house has questioned the justification behind the High
Court’s stating that rule 340 (2) was followed during suspension while saying
that action was taken according to rule 194. It has also questioned how
suspension could be imposed while privilege committees notices were being
issued on the other hand.
