Sub-Plan Funds Being Misused

AP Assembly: YSRCP MLA, Adimoolapu Suresh, criticised about SC, ST sub-plan funds not being utilised properly. As he spoke during assembly budget sessions in AP, he indicated that the Government should self-check how far it was providing free electricity using the sub-plan funds. Mentioning the high number of villages still suffering due to lack of electricity supply, he demanded that the 50 units of free power being given to SCs and STs was not sufficient and it should be raised to 200 units.
Stating that only Rs.58 crore and Rs.18 crore were being spent for SCs and STs respectively, he reminded that union government's scheme was also there in free electricity. Suresh demanded the minister to reveal what part of the subsidy was being born by the centre's Deena Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Yojana and how many families were being benefited by free electricity under SC-ST sub-plan.
