Kondapuram: Agitation of villagers of Chavatapalle of Kondapuram mandal in YSR district is going on. Chandrababu promised to pay them compensation according to R&R but has not responded even after flood water engulfed the houses in the village. As a result, the villagers set out to stage agitation. They started a dharna on Kadapa-Tadipatri highway on Tuesday, demanding for justified compensation.
Chavatapalle is one of the six villages in the flood area of Gandikota reservoir. Water gathered in the village in the last two months from Avuku reservoir. The villagers are declaring that they will vacate the place happily if given proper compensation and will not move a bit otherwise. Cooking right on the roads, they spent the whole night too in their protest. They are continuing their agitation even today.
