SCS demand: Students stage protest
25 Jul 2018 7:00 PM
Amaravati: After a successful bandh across the state yesterday, the students' unions and opposition parties today formed human chains in the 13 districts demanding Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh as well as to fulfill the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act. According to the students' union leaders over ten million students participated in the human chain protest across the state.
The students' union leaders said that only if SCS was accorded to the state, the students would find employment. By accepting Special Package, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu cheated the student community. They said that the AP CM did a U-turn over the SCS since the elections were approaching. The TDP MPs should have resigned like YSRCP MPs, they said and added that their fight would continue until SCS was achieved.
