Roll Back Hike Of Power, RTC Charges; YSRCP Dharna On June 25

Hyderabad, June 24: Demanding the TRS
Government to roll back the hiked power and RTC bus charges, Telangana YSR
Congress has said that it would hold a massive dharna on Saturday in
protest against the anti-people decisions of KCR.

‘The Government has been spending Rs 300
crore on publicity for its two year completion on one hand and has imposed a
burden of Rs 286 crores on the common man through hike in power charges,’ party
leader Konda Raghava Reddy told reporters here on Friday.

We will hold a dharna at RTC cross roads
against the hike in bus charges and power charges to highlight the anti-people
policies of the government. YSR during his term of 5 years and 100 days did not
increase any tariff while TRS has increased the charges twice in as many years.

The state has waited till all he
elections from Warangal to Khammam and GHMC to be over and then increased the
power charges and bus fares. The concession of no hike below 100 units will
apply only to a small group and majority of the people will be burdened by the
hike and we demand that the increase should be rolled back, he said. Medium and
Small Enterprises would be badly affected by the hike he said adding that the total
amount to be moped up with the hike would be around Rs 680 crores.

On one hand KCR has been telling that
the State has a surplus budget and KTR has been boasting higher revenue, then
why the hike, he asked.
