Resignations are against Cong stand: Nalla

YSRCP leader Nalla Suryaprakash speaking to the media at the party central office in Hyderabad on Friday

Hyderabad, July 26,
2013: Strongly asserting that YSRCP MLAs have quit assembly in their individual
capacity protesting against the Congress double game on the issue of division
of the state, party leader Nalla Suryaprakash has said the party leadership is
not against Telangana and resignations of MLAs are not against Telangana
formation.

“The party is still
committed to its stand on the issue of Telangana expressed in the first plenary.
The MLAs have resigned opposing the double game being played by the Congress
leadership on the issue,” he said, demanding Congress must disclose its stand
first before taking any final decision.

At the all party
meeting on the issue in Delhi, all parties expressed their stand except for
Congress, he observed and said: “Congress must express its stand and then seek
others’ views on it.”

He said Congress has
been playing with the lives of the Andhra Pradesh people and enacting a double
game in the state by leaking contradictory information on the issue and on the
status of Hyderabad. “On the one hand, MLA Veerasiva Reddy has quit in the
Rayala Seema and on the other, the Seema Andhra Ministers are conducting
meetings opposing Telangana. This is all the double game of the Congress
leadership,” he said.

Congress leadership,
which has kept the issue pending for the last four years, has been acting
unilaterally now for political gains, he said, adding YSRCP MLAs had resigned
from the assembly opposing this opportunism of the Congress leadership.

The action of the YSRCP
MLAs is purely individual and not against formation of Telangana state as the
party is very much committed to its stand on Telangana taken at the first
plenary.

Decries
Naidu’s stand

Suryaprakash condemned
the attack on YSRCP central office by a few individuals and stooges of TDP
chief Chandrababu Naidu. “Naidu should have
opposed the double game of the Congress leadership on the issue instead of
sending his stooges to attack our party office,” he said.
