Quarter Row: Chevireddy to move court

Hyderabad, Strongly denying the reports appearing in a section of press that he has expanded the official quarter allotted to him, YSR Congress MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy said that he would explore legal options as there is no truth in the news.

“The quarter no 157 was allotted to me and it is in a dilapidated condition. The earlier occupant Ramesh Rathod had done some repairs but still the ceiling and flooring are in a bad shape. I have only repaired and renovated the existing area but did not expand the occupancy area,” he told reporters here on Monday.

“I have applied to the government for permission and it was accorded by order no. 104 in November 2014. I have taken up repair and renovation works on the basis of the order as the
quarter is in a bad shape and I have a stream of visitors coming from my constituency,” the MLA representing Chandragiri said.

“I am fully aware that I am just a tenant and government owns the quarter. As it is in a bad shape and Rs 25,000 is being deducted from my salary as rent, I have taken up the renovation
work and there is no truth that I have extended plinth area of the house as reported.

The report is baseless and damaging. I will also slap a legal notice on the publishing house,” he said adding that three TDP MLAs, including Errabelli Dayakar Rao, have refurbished the quarters allotted to them lavishly. Even Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had spent crores of rupees for the makeover of his office and cabin and no questions were asked.

“I strongly deny the report and will serve a court notice for publishing such a baseless report,” he said.
