Vijayawada: The YSR Congress Party held candle light rallies in all the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh, demanding immediate disqualification of those MLAs who switched parties without seeking a fresh mandate.
The rallies held under the YSRCP's 'Save Democracy' campaign dared the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to face the electorate with the defectors. The protestors also demanded implementation of the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act, announcement of a new railway zone with headquarters in Visakhapatnam and special category status for AP.
Meanwhile, a YSRCP delegation led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to meet President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on April 25 and 26 to highlight the misrule of the TDP.
