In wake of the close confident of Andhra Pradesh ChiefMinister N Chandrababu Naidu spilling the beans on the irregularities in the irrigation works, YSR Congress Party today demanded the dismissal of the concerned Minister, an inquiry and blacklisting the companies involved.
Talking to newsmen here, Party Spokesperson Tammineni Sitaram said, CM Ramesh, considered to be a close confident of Chief Minister, has writtenan open letter detailing the irregularities in irrigation works and releasing the funds which tantamount to misuse of public funds."We demand that the Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao be sacked and an inquiry ordered into the deals and blacklist the companies involved.
" The irregularities that have been brought to light pertain to Owk Reservoir and the estimated cost was escalated from Rs 12 crore to Rs 110 crore and funds released. This is a gross misuse of public money and merits a thorough probe after dismissing the concerned Minister, he said.
The payment of Rs 44 crore was in violation of the agreement and the irregularities should be checked immediately," the TDP MP had written in the open letter. "We have been time and again pointing out the irregularities and the kickbacks and corruption in various deals and now an important leader of the ruling party himself has come out in the open to expose the irregularities, he said. "The Government has been posting officials who are not cooperating with their unethical agenda to non-focal posts with Mr Joseph and LV Subrahmanyam being the recent victims, he said.
