Hyderabad, YSR Congress Party has demanded a white paper on the foreign tours of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and an inquiry by a sitting judge into the relief operations carried out in the Hudhud Cyclone hit north coastal districts.
“While the farmers are unable to get fertilizers in open market, Chief Minister has been on foreign jaunts and the people should know how much was spent on his trips and what is the outcome. This apart the relief and rehabilitation works in the three north coastal districts has been a disaster and we demand an inquiry into it by Vigilance Department or by a sitting judge,” party leader Tammineni Sitaram told reporters here on Sunday.
The State should publish a white paper on the expenditure of Chandrababu Naidu’s foreign trips, the agreements signed abroad and the investments that would be flowing into our State. The State has miserably failed in addressing the problems of the Hudhud Cyclone affected people and we demand that an inquiry should held by the Vigilance Department or a sitting judge to bring out the true picture.
The state has reduced elected representatives to mere spectators and has included TDP cadre into the committees which are vindictive and showing discrimination, he said. Even mid-day meal cooks are removed by the committee members on the basis of political affiliations.
The committee members have scaled down the number of beneficiaries of welfare schemes drastically on one pretext or the other and linking Aadhar card is one such measure. Nine lakh farmers are removed from the eligibility list for loan waiver on the basis of Aadhar card.
The State has failed to keep up its promise of loan waiver and now has opened centers to purchase paddy and the payment is made through cheques and the banks are adjusting them to the old loans.
In the name of smart governance, TDP government cheating the people, he said.
