Hyderabad, Sept 12: In wake of the Court strictures on Swiss Challenge, YSR Congress has demanded that TDP government should volunteer for a court monitored CBI inquiry in to the Swiss Challenge being pursued by the state government.
'The irregularities and high level corruption in the Swiss Challenge method has been heavily loaded in favour of the foreign companies,' party leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy told reporters here on Monday.
The state has given huge extent of land on a platter with terms which are tailor made to suit the Singapore companies due to mercantile interests and the allotment of contracts under Swiss Challenge method right from the beginning should be inquired into by court monitored CBI inquiry for transparency, he said.
The state has given 1,700 acres of land to the Singapore companies under the Swiss Challenge bypassing all the rules and this should be thoroughly probed. The government has set terms and conditions which are heavily in favour of Singapore companies.
The land given does not house any government offices, assembly or other such facilities but would be used for commercial purpose which shows that there is huge amount of corruption involved.
The issue should be probed from the beginning and the government should volunteer for a court monitored CBI probe, he said.
