Private Bill For Special Status

New Delhi: YSRCP MP YV Subbareddy stated that the
party would introduce a private bill in Lok Sabha seeking special status for
AP. He reminded how the arty stroke Lok Sabha thrice earlier for the achievement
of the status. Speaking to the media at Delhi, he reminded how YSRCP had held
strike in Guntur for eight days demanding the sanction of the status. He also
recollected all the agitations and meetings held in various districts of AP. He
criticised PM Narendra Modi and CM Chandrababu Naidu for their indifference
towards the matter in spite of the promises they had made to the people.

Prakasam district
should be listed as a backward district

Prakasam district
should be added to the list of backward districts of the state eligible for
special package mentioned in AP reorganization act-2014, YV Subbareddy
proposed. He mentioned this in a private member bill. This was preserved in the
Lok Sabha’s private member business agenda on Friday. But it did not come to
discussion as the Sabha got postponed in the afternoon.

It has been mentioned
in the reorganization act that districts of North Andhra region and Rayalaseema
region should be given special package. YV Subbareddy specified in his bill
that Prakasam, which was a competently backward district, should be added to
the list.
