Hyderabad, March 25, 2013: The Kiran Kumar
Reddy-led Congress Government has come under a scathing attack by the YSRCP
MLAs in the assembly on Monday on the worsening power situation in the state.
Launching the party attack during a short
discussion on the subject, YSRCP MLA Srikanth Reddy categorically rejected the
opposition TDP’s charge that YSR was responsible for the present power crisis
and squarely blamed the unpreparedness of the present Government for the plight
of the people.
“Sitting in the opposition, YSR said he would
supply free power for famers and kept his promise after taking over as CM.
While YSR did what he had said, Chandrababu Naidu who made fun of YSR promises,
had changed his stance now and is promising free power,” he said, rejecting the
allegations of TDP.
Demanding the CM to continue the telescopic system
in power tariff billing, he asked the Government to bear the surcharges on
power tariff and also supply free power seven hours a day for farmers.
“The deposits of natural gas and coal in the state
should be used to produce power in the state only and the Genco should be
entrusted with the task of constructing power plants,” he suggested.
Govt has run away
from responsibility
Reacting to the adjournment of the assembly after a
short discussion on the power crisis, YSRCLP Deputy Leader Sobha Nagi Reddy
said the Government has run away from its responsibility of replying to the
debate over the issue.
