Guntur: YSRCP's SC cell state president, Meruga Nagarjuna, remarked that 80% of the labourers in the country could not eat proper food due to demonetisation. In protest against the Government's ignorance to people's suffering, YSRCP leaders, Meruga Nagarjuna, MLA Mustafa and general secretary Lella Appireddy held bandh in Guntur. They raised slogans against the tyrannical Government and rallied on the main highway of Guntur.
Later, speaking to the media, Meruga mentioned that it was ridiculous for Chandrababu to say cashless transactions had to happen. Mentioning that most of the labourers in the state lacked bank accounts, he stated that they were facing hard time as the currency notes they had saved had become invalid. Specifying that YSRCP was not against exposure of black money, he stated that the party was against the hardship being caused by the Government to common people.
Meruga commented that people were unable to perform ceremonies in their house due to the decision taken by the Government. He slammed Chandrababu's double entendre and advised that Modi should regret and rectify his mistake instead of counterattacking the opposition leaders. He mentioned that the hartal was being observed in order to teach the Union and the State Governments a lesson.
