Vijayawada: Cash-for-vote scam which became a sensational case in the country, is taking a new turn now. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is facing a tough time as IT employees took an online petition demanding probe against prime accused Naidu in the case.
As part of this, thousands of IT employees are signing online petition. Techie Tirumala Prasad Patil initiated the online petition. In just three days, the petition secured 12,000 signatures of mostly IT employees. Change.org, which is one of the biggest online petition platforms in the world, is securing signatures in 196 countries.
It may be recalled that YSRCP MLA Ramakrishna Reddy had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the court to direct the ACB to probe Chandrababu Naidu in the case.
However, Naidu's sought stay in the case. The petitioner also sought the court to name Naidu as prime accused in the case. The cash-for-vote scam broke when the ACB had arrested TDP MLA Revanth Reddy for sealing a deal to buy Telangana nominated MLA. So far, two chargesheets have been filed in the case.
