Nidadavolu turned into a hub of corruption

Nidadavolu: Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan criticised Chandrababu Naidu for reducing Nidadavolu to a centre of injustice, looting, corruption, atrocities, sand and soil mining. The YSRCP chief reminded the large gathering at a public meeting here that Nidadavolu stands in history as a symbol of courage of Telugu women. He reminded the huge gathering here that Rani Rudramma Devi was a celebrated daughter-in-law of the place. In contrast, we find Nidadavolu turned into a hub of corruption and looting in all aspects today, he added.

YS Jagan said that this district had given 15 assembly seats to TDP. People now ask--what did Chandrababu Naidu do for us?

Illegal sand mining was rampant across West Godavari, he pointed out. Thousands of trucks with lakhs of tons carrying illegally mined sand moved freely. Collectors turn a blind eye and all these activities take place right under the nose of the police, the YSRCP chief said. YS Jagan further said that complaints sent to officials on sand mining are ignored. Soil is dug and sold and it is estimated that in the past four years under TDP the total cost of such illegal excavation and sale of soil came to a staggering Rs 34,000 crores, he remarked. Such was the scale of corruption, the YSRCP chief pointed out.

While the common citizens may have to pay for sand, it was supplied free to MLAs and proxy contractors of Chandrababu Naidu, he said. Though the rates of steel had dropped earlier, he hiked them while giving contracts to his hand-picked contractors.

The YSRCP chief said that AP was charging Rs 6-7 per litre of petrol over other states. The loan waivers have all gone for a toss and in the last four years not even a rupee was waived. Chandrababu was full of lies and cheating, it was time we dumped them and moved ahead, he added.
