New angle in Cash for vote case
21 Jun 2015 9:39 AM

In the cash
for vote case Mattaiah alias Mathews Jerusalem was an A-4 convict in the case
registered
in Hyderabad but he is roaming freely in Andhra Pradesh. After the case got
filed
in Hyderabad
he fled to Vijayawada on May 31st, he went straight to Satyanarayanapuram
Police
Station in Vijayawada and lodged a complaint against KCR that he is threatening
him
and the
police have registered the case. By this we understand that he has taken
shelter in
Vijayawada.
In the
complaint filed at Satyanarayanapuram Police station by Mattaiah only details
of
threats were
mentioned but later in the recorded statement given by Mattaiah in Vijayawada
Muncipal
Court they took precaution that he mentions about dishonesty and bribery. It is
known that
based on this they are planning to take action against KCR as per PC Act. But
as
per what
Mattaiah says the bribery took place in Telangana so there is no possibility of
filing
a case in AP
and that is the reason why they prepared records that during the investigation
of
Satyanarayanapuram case new information was collected and based on this the CID
has
decided to
Re-Register the case by including the PC Act sections. They are about to submit
Memo in the
relevant Court and are also planning to send notices and take legal action
against
Telangana CM KCR, Nominated MLA Stephenson and others mentioned in
Mattaiah’s
recorded statement.
We would have never seen that a convict person registered in an FIR in one state was given
protection in another state. We cannot think that it happened unknowingly. The whole country
is aware of the cash for vote case and about the convicts in that case, the AP police will be
definitely knowing about him. Instead of taking him into custody the AP police have received
him with respect and received his complaint. By this we can understand to what degree the
AP Police have fallen. The Vijayawada Commissioner A.B.Venkateswara Rao saying that
they did not know that Mattaiah was a convict in cash for vote case is something to be
looked at.
