Vizianagaram: YSR Congress party (YSRCP) leader Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy called for a 'Yuva Garjana' protest rally here on August 11, to condemn the Andhra Pradesh government's unemployment allowance scheme, Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestam, which leaves crores of unemployed youth out of the scheme. Speaking to media here today, the YSRCP leader said that the new scheme was a mere gimmick by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), to save its face ahead of the elections. He said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu failed to fulfil all the 600 election promises he made prior to the 2014 elections.
Veerabhadra Swamy said that the YSRCP condemns the government's decision to cap an age limit for the scheme and provide Rs 1000 per month to just 12 lakh unemployed youth. The YSRCP leader demanded that the State government give Rs 2,000 against unemployment allowance, as promised in 2014, and extend the age limit to 40 years.
