Make Jaitley-Naidu Talk On Special Status Public

Hyderabad, Aug 3: Asserting that special status is the only solution for all round development of the state, YSR Congress has demanded to make public the talk between Union Finance Minister and Chief Minister in wake of the state-wide bandh and protests in Parliament on the vital issue.
‘Chandrababu Naidu should make public what was the assurance given by Union Minister Arun Jatley and the action plan, if any, agreed upon, as it is an issue of public importance,’ party leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters here on Wednesday.
The people of the state are eager to know if there was any assurance given by the Centre as the future of the state lies in special status and many people have the doubt that the state and Centre are bidding time on the issue.
‘Chandrababu Naidu has always placed his personal interest ahead of the state interest and the same thing is taking place in the special category issue as well. The two union ministers have earlier said that special category status is a must but when the situation to fulfil has come it was reduced to a mere telephone talk, details of which were not revealed.
We cannot believe unless there is a categorical assurance and a road map for the special status as both BJP and TDP have include the issue in their respective manifestos but went back on it with one party totally rejecting and the other trying to water it down,’ he said. It is time to mount pressure on the Centre in the interest of the state we will settle for nothing short of it and will continue our fight and Chandrababu Naidu’s remarks that a Chief Minister cannot be booked comes out of sheer ignorance and there are many a precedence. The cash for vote and other scams that have come out has Chandrababu Naidu’s name tagged and an inquiry would reveal full details, he said. He also criticised the shoddy manner in which the Polavaram issue is being dealt with.
