Mahadharna For Water

Ananthapuram: YSRCP's coordinator of Raptadu constituency, Topudurthi Prakash Reddy, remarked that the Government had failed in rescuing the drought-affected areas of the district. Mentioning how drinking water scarcity had already begun before the arrival of summer, he commented that the farmers who had hoped to get water from Handri-Neeva were left with disappointment.

Topudurthi demanded that the lakes under PABR right canal should be promptly filled and the ayacut below HLC and the crop fields under Handri-Neeva phase II should be provided with water. He also insisted that scale of finance limit should be imposed on input subsidy and a subsidy of Rs.19,500 should be paid per acre.
He also informed that it had been decided to conduct a Mahadharna on the 31st of this month, in order to bring pressure on the Government in the direction of providing water to the district. He called for the farmers of the district to make this Mahadharna a success.
